Henry C. Crawford bought 1,400 acres of timber land, on the line of the Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad, about fifteen miles south of Port Allegany, and engaged in cutting timber on it. He later built two saw-mills, one at Gardeau, and the other at Sizerville. (J.H.Beers) |
